Removal and recovery of vanadium from alkaline steel slag leachates with anion exchange resins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Leachable vanadium (V) from steel production residues poses a potential environmental hazard due to its mobility and toxicity under the highly alkaline pH conditions that characterise these leachates.

COMBINATION OF REVERSE OSMOSIS AND ELECTRODEIONIZATION FOR SIMULTANEOUS SUGAR RECOVERY AND SALTS REMOVAL FROM SUGARY WASTEWATER

open access: yesReaktor, 2011
An integrated membrane system combining reverse osmosis (RO) and electrodeionization (EDI) is used for simultaneous sugar concentration and salts removal from a synthetic dilute sugar solution as a model of sugar-containing wastewater. The RO system uses

Oxygen Vacancy‐Enriched Platinum Single‐Atom Nanozyme Wrapped in Nanoislands: Unlocking Catalytic Activity and Reprogramming Redox Microenvironment for Osteonecrosis Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CeO2‐x/Pt single‐atom nano‐island is constructed via low‐temperature reduction, featuring abundant oxygen vacancies and an island–sea structure. It delivers outstanding multi‐enzyme‐mimetic activity and ROS‐scavenging efficiency. Density functional theory reveals optimized electronic structures and reaction pathways.

Characterization of natural aquatic organics and their mechanistic interactions on anion exchange resins [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
In this research specific interactions of well-characterized aquatic organics concentrated from a surface water by reverse osmosis and fractionated by ultrafiltration on commercial anion exchange resins were investigated.

Chemoenzymatic Synthesis of Well‐Defined α(2,8)‐ and α(2,9)‐Linked Oligosialosides

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Well‐defined α(2,8)‐ and α(2,9)‐linked oligosialic acids of different lengths can be prepared by employing recombinant bacterial polysialyltransferases in combination with chemically modified CMP‐Neu5Ac derivatives. After transfer, a sialoside is formed bearing an artificial entity, which blocks further glycosylation.

Efficient Concentration and Complete Destruction of Short‐Chain and Emerging PFAS in Contaminated Water via Integrated Interface Engineering‐Enhanced Carbon Felt Sorption and Photochemical Processes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A closed‐loop “Concentrate‐Destroy” strategy is presented for completely eliminating short‐chain and emerging PFAS, in which the new 3D PPy@P‐CF is used for efficiently concentrating PFAS and Cu2+‐mediated photodegradation is applied for the completely destroying PFAS in the sorbent regeneration eluent.

Syntheses of anion exchange resins selective for gold and silver cyanide complexes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Deals with the preparation, characterisation and testing of a series of new and improved synthetic anion exchange resins for selective absorption of the precious metals gold and silver, over the base metals, iron, copper, cobalt, zinc, nickel and ...

Harnessing the Reactivity of Sulfinate Salts With Cystine: An Umpolung Approach to Residue‐Specific Peptide Modification

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
While cysteine is widely employed as a nucleophilic handle for peptide modification, the electrophilicity of the oxidized form, cystine, is rarely exploited. This study describes a mild, photochemical coupling of sulfinate salts with peptide disulfides.

Chromium (VI) removal from aqueous solutions by purolite base anion-exchange resins with gel structure [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Industry and Chemical Engineering Quarterly, 2013
The removal of Cr (VI) from aqueous solution using two strong base anionic resins with gel structure, Purolite A-400 (styrene-divinylbenzene matrix) and Purolite A-850 (acrylic matrix) was investigated in batch technique. The sorption efficiency
