Determination of micellar system behavior in the presence of salt and water-soluble polymers using the phase diagram technique [PDF]
The application of micellar systems has been growing during the last years because of their importance in various practical situations. Continued development of their application is necessary.

Dicarboxylate‐modified anionic hairy cellulose nanocrystals exhibit a high selectivity for dysprosium(III) over neodymium(III). This selectivity arises from disordered dicarboxylate cellulose “hairs” that enable cooperative ionic coordination, hydrogen bonding, and strain‐induced conformational shrinkage.

Anionic surfactant induced desorption of a cationic surfactant from mica [PDF]
The adsorption and desorption of a cationic surfactant, didodecyldimethy- lammonium bromide, from water onto a mica surface has been investigated using neutron reflectivity. The surfactant was observed to adsorb strongly as a bilayer that was tenacious to a sustained water wash, but on the addition of an anionic surfactant, sodium dodecyl sulfate, at ...

Bio‐Inspired Molecular Events in Poly(Ionic Liquids)
Originating from dipolar and polar inter‐ and intra‐chain interactions of the building blocks, the topologies and morphologies of poly(ionic liquids) (PIL) govern their nano‐ and micro‐processibility. Modulating the interactions of cation‐anion pairs with aliphatic dipolar components enables the tunability of properties, facilitated by “bottom‐up ...

Process for the leaching of AP from propellant [PDF]
A method for the recovery of ammonium perchlorate from waste solid rocket propellant is described wherein shredded particles of the propellant are leached with an aqueous leach solution containing a low concentration of surface active agent while ...

Influence of MWCNT/surfactant dispersions on the mechanical properties of Portland cement pastes [PDF]
This work studies the reinforcing effect of Multi Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT) on cement pastes. A 0.35% solid concentration of MWCNT in powder was dispersed in deionized water with sodium dodecyl sulfate (cationic surfactant), cetylpyridinium ...

Nano‐ and Micro‐Sized Solid Materials Used as Antiviral Agents
Due to the rise of viral infections in humans and possible viral outbreaks, the use of nano‐ or micro‐sized materials as antiviral agents is rapidly increasing. This review explores their antiviral properties against RNA and DNA viruses, either as a prevention or a treatment tool, by delving into their mechanisms of action and how to properly assess ...

Double-walled carbon nanotube dispersion via surfactant substitution [PDF]
A new approach for the stabilisation of double-walled carbon nanotubes in aqueous media was developed. A low molecular weight surfactant was used in the first stage for the debundling of the nanotubes followed by substitution with a higher molecular ...
