MIDDLE TRIASSIC ECHINODERMS FROM THE SAN SALVATORE FORMATION OF LOMBARDY (ITALY) AND CANTON TICINO (SWITZERLAND)

open access: yesRivista Italiana di Paleontologia e Stratigrafia, 2023
An echinoderm fauna from the San Salvatore Formation (Middle Triassic, Southern Alps) is here  described in detail for the first time. Identifiable crinoids and echinoids were collected from three different localities: Mt.

New Zealand Geological Timescale 2025

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics, Volume 69, Issue 1, March 2026.
New Zealand Geological Timescale 2025 (NZGT 2025) is the first comprehensive update and revision of the New Zealand Geological Timescale in a decade. The criteria used to establish age ranges of New Zealand Stages within the NZGT have been reviewed, calibrated, and revised where required against the 2023/04 International Chronostratigraphic Chart and ...

Local versus global effects on changes of fossil diversity: paleoenvironmental interpretation of Triassic faunas of the Balaton Highland (Hungary) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The formations of the Balaton Highland provide a high-resolution record of various fossil groups (ammonoids, bivalves, brachiopods) from the Early Triassic to the Carnian, with remarkable changes in taxonomic diversity. The local data differ considerably

Preliminary Palynostratigraphic Age Assessment of Victoria and Ferrar Group Deposits in the Central Prince Albert Mountains, Victoria Land, East Antarctica

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics, Volume 69, Issue 1, March 2026.
Composition and age span of sedimentary deposits of the Transantarctic Basin system vary between different regions of the Transantarctic Mountains. Moreover, whereas the regional stratigraphic successions have been very well established in some areas of East Antarctica, such as the Allan Hills or the Beardmore Glacier, they remain virtually unexplored ...

Ammonoid diversification in the Middle Triassic: Examples from the Tethys (Eastern Lombardy, Balaton Highland) and the Pacific (Nevada) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The diversity dynamics of the Anisian ammonoids is analyzed in terms of generic richness and turnover rates in one North American (Nevada) and two western Tethyan (Eastern Lombardy, Balaton Highland) regions.

Caenogastropods and heterobranch gastropods from the Hettangian deposits of Luxembourg: palaeobiogeography and Early Jurassic faunal recovery in the western Tethys

open access: yesPapers in Palaeontology, Volume 12, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
Abstract We describe the Hettangian Caenogastropoda and Heterobranchia of the Luxembourg Sandstone Formation, a wedge of clastic sediments deposited along the eastern margin of Paris Basin during the Early Jurassic. Five new genera and 11 new species are erected: Bourguetia bipartita sp. nov., Globularia delsatei sp. nov., Oonia feidtorum sp.

Similarities and differences in the dolomitization history of two coeval Middle Triassic carbonate platforms, Balaton Highland, Hungary [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Dolomitization of platform carbonates is commonly the result of multiphase processes. Documentation of the complex dolomitization history is difficult if completely dolomitized sections are studied.
