Free vibration of anisotropic single-walled carbon nanotube based on couple stress theory for different chirality

open access: yesJournal of Low Frequency Noise, Vibration and Active Control, 2017
In the present work, using the couple stress theory, a new model is provided for vibrating behavior of anisotropic carbon nanotubes. Carbon nanotubes have many applications, and careful analysis of their behavior is important. So far, using the isotropic

Microstructure‐Controlled Crack Propagation and Fracture Resistance in MoSiBTiC Alloy Revealed by Multiscale Extended Finite Element Method Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐dimensional multiscale finite element analysis framework was established for the first‐generation MoSiBTiC alloy, and the mechanical and fracture‐related parameters of the constituent phases were calibrated through experiments and simulations. The framework provides a basis for analyzing crack propagation behavior in its complex microstructure ...

Creep Properties and Deformation Mechanism of Additively Manufactured NiAl‐CrMo Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additively manufactured NiAl‐CrMo composites contain numerous interfaces and cell boundaries that control their creep response. At 700°C under high applied stress, creep is dominated by dislocation‐controlled power‐law mechanisms. At 800°C–900°C and lower stresses, creep is primarily diffusion‐controlled along cell boundaries.

Selling’s decomposition and the anisotropic wave equation

open access: yes
The design of efficient numerical schemes for anisotropic partial differential equations, featuring privileged directions in general not aligned with the coordinate axes, raises challenging discretization problems which can often be addressed with the tools of algorithmic geometry.

Uniqueness result for nonlinear anisotropic elliptic equations.

open access: yes, 2013
We consider here a class of anisotropic elliptic equations, in a bounded domain $\Omega$ with Lipschitz continuous boundary $\partial \Omega$

Soft Mechanical‐Electrical Logic Using Liquid Metal‐Filled 3D‐Printed Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present 3D‐printed soft mechanical–electrical logic elements that use liquid metal–filled silicone tubes actuated by thermoplastic polyurethane/polylactic acid (TPU/PLA) architectures to produce Boolean operations. Complementary normally open and normally closed unit cells perform repeatable binary transitions and can be combined into more complex ...

Generalized Picone and Riccati inequalities for half-linear differential operators with arbitrary elliptic matrices

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2010
In the article, we extend the well-known Picone identity for half-linear partial differential equations to equations with anisotropic p-Laplacian.

Toward Knowledge‐Based Workflows: A Semantic Approach to Atomistic Simulations for Mechanical and Thermodynamic Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Knowledge‐based atomistic workflows are presented for mechanical and thermodynamic properties. By coupling modular simulations with ontology‐aligned metadata and provenance, Fe case studies on elastic behavior, defects, thermal properties, and Hall–Petch strengthening reveal how FAIR, queryable, and reusable simulation data can be generated. Mechanical
