The anisotropy of personal space
Violations of personal space are associated with discomfort. However, the exact function linking the magnitude of discomfort to interpersonal distance has not yet been specified. In this study, we explore whether interpersonal distance and discomfort are isotropic with respect to uncomfortably far or close distances.

Abstract Background Various methods exist to correct for intrafraction motion (IFM) of the prostate during radiotherapy. We sought to characterize setup corrections in our practice informed by the TrueBeam Advanced imaging package, and analyze factors associated with IFM.

Intrinsic Anisotropy and Pinning Anisotropy in Nanostructured YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{7-δ}$ from Microwave Measurements [PDF]
Anisotropy is an intrinsic factor that dictates the magnetic properties of YBCO, thus with great impact for many applications. Artificial pinning centres are often introduced in an attempt to mitigate its effect, resulting in less anisotropic electrical and magnetic properties. However, the nanoengineering of the superconductor makes the quantification

Anisotropy of Thermal Dileptons [PDF]
The meaningful specific anisotropy in the angle distribution of leptons with respect to the three-momentum of pair is predicted as a feasibility signature of synchrotron-like mechanism resulting from the quarks interacting with a collective confining color field in the heavy ion collisions.

Magnetic anisotropy of lecithin membranes. A new anisotropy susceptometer
Cylindrical giant vesicles prepared from egg lecithin and 1,2-dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DMPC) are oriented in an external magnetic field and observed by phase contrast microscopy. The anisotropic part of the diamagnetic susceptibility of the lecithin membrane is determined from the distribution of angles between the magnetic field and ...

Patient‐specific adaptive planning margin for whole bladder radiation therapy
Abstract Background Whole bladder irradiation is an organ preservation treatment approach for muscle‐invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). Conventional planning margins, typically 15–20 mm, increase normal tissue toxicity and limit possible dose escalation.

Grain refinement and strength enhancement in Mg wrought alloys: A review
Low absolute strength becomes one major obstacle for the wider applications of low/no rare-earth (RE) containing Mg alloys. This review firstly demonstrates the importance of grain refinement in improving strength of Mg alloys by comprehensively ...

Giant reversible magnetoresistance effect in a Ni46Co3Mn35Cu2In14 polycrystalline alloy
In this work, the reversible magnetoresistance properties in a Ni46Co3Mn35Cu2In14 polycrystalline alloy were studied. By using Co substitution for Ni to improve the magnetic properties and Cu substitution for Mn to reduce the transformation hysteresis ...

Primordial magnetic fields and CMB anisotropies [PDF]
Possible signatures of primordial magnetic fields on the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) temperature and polarization anisotropies are reviewed. The signals that could be searched for include excess temperature anisotropies particularly at small angular scales below the Silk damping scale, B-mode polarization, and non-Gaussian statistics.
