Scale-invariant magnetic anisotropy in RuCl3 at high magnetic fields

Nature Physics, 2020
In RuCl 3 , inelastic neutron scattering and Raman spectroscopy reveal a continuum of non-spin-wave excitations that persists to high temperature, suggesting the presence of a spin liquid state on a honeycomb lattice.

Anisotropy of photosynthetic membranes and the degree of fluorescence polarization

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Bioenergetics, 1976
The degree of fluorescence polarization, P, of unoriented and magnetically oriented spinach chloroplasts as a function of excitation (400-680 nm) and emission wavelengths (675-750 nm) is reported. For unoriented chloroplasts P can be divided into two contributions, PIN and PAN. The latter arises from the optical anisotropy of the membranes which is due

[001] interface anisotropy using degree of polarization [quantum wells]

Proceedings of 8th International Conference on Indium Phosphide and Related Materials, 2002
The authors report the measurement of the polarization of luminescence from the [001] surface ([001] growth direction) and relate the observations to interfacial structure of the quantum wells in zinc blende semiconductors.

Micro Air-Pulse Spatial Deformation Spreading Characterizes Degree of Anisotropy in Tissues

IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Quantum Electronics, 2021
In optical coherence elastography (OCE), air-pulse stimulation has been widely used to produce propagation of mechanical waves for elastic characterization of tissues. In this paper, we propose the use of spatial deformation spreading (SDS) on the surface of samples produced by air-pulse stimulation for the OCE of transverse isotropic tissues ...

Anisotropy of ionization degree at scattering on surface semichannels

Radiation Effects, 1982
Abstract Ion charge formation at glancing scattering by surface semichannels of single crystals based upon the conception of electron loss and capture by ions passing along some scattering trajectories approaching or moving away from the lattice atoms has been considered. The orientational effects of ionization degree have been explained.

Deposition of Permalloy with Varying Degrees of Anisotropy

Journal of Applied Physics, 1968
Some of the physical properties of 81/19 Permalloy films with different degrees of uniaxial anisotropy have been studied. Such films were produced by vacuum deposition in rotating magnetic fields with varying ellipticity, keeping all other deposition parameters constant during one test series.

Estimating the degree of anisotropy of elastic media

Journal of Applied Mechanics and Technical Physics, 1976
The refraction curves, wave-front geometry, and changes taking place in these characteristics on varying the elastic constants of anisotropic media over wide ranges are analyzed. A quantitative criterion is derived for estimating the number and disposition of the lacunas, the properties of the roots of the characteristic equation, and other important ...

Intrinsic anisotropy of degree of transport spin polarization in typical ferromagnets

Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2008
A general approach is presented for investigation of the anisotropy of the degree of transport spin polarization (P) in ferromagnets both in the ballistic regime, P(1,i), and in the diffusive regime, P(2,i), as a function of crystal direction. The validity of this approach is confirmed by the benchmark calculation for the isotropic P. By this approach,
