Spatial Configurations of 3D Extracellular Matrix Collagen Density and Anisotropy Simultaneously Guide Angiogenesis.

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2023
Extracellular matrix (ECM) collagen density and fibril anisotropy are thought to affect the development of new vasculatures during pathologic and homeostatic angiogenesis.

First Results from Viper: Detection of Small-Scale Anisotropy at 40 GHZ [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Results of a search for small-scale anisotropy in the cosmic microwave background (CMB) are presented. Observations were made at the South Pole using the Viper telescope, with a .26 degree (FWHM) beam and a passband centered at 40 GHz.

Degree Scale Anisotropy: Current Status [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1996
The Cosmic Background Radiation gives us one of the few probes into the density perturbations in the early universe that should later lead to the formation of structure we now observe. Recent advances in degree scale anisotropy measurements have allowed us to begin critically testing cosmological models. Combined with the larger scale measurements from

Linking inherent anisotropy with liquefaction phenomena of granular materials by means of DEM analysis

open access: yesSoils and Foundations, 2022
The liquefaction phenomena of sands have been studied by many researchers to date. Laboratory element tests have revealed key factors that govern liquefaction phenomena, such as relative density, particle size distribution, and grain shape.

Analysis of Resistivity Anisotropy of Loaded Coal Samples

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2020
In this paper, an experimental study of the variation of resistivity of coal samples in different bedding directions at 1 MHz frequency was performed by establishing an experimental system for resistivity testing of coal under triaxial stress.

Polarization of Thermal Emission from Aligned Dust Grains Under an Anisotropic Radiation Field [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
If aspherical dust grains are immersed in an anisotropic radiation field, their temperature depends on the cross-sections projected in the direction of the anisotropy. It was shown that the temperature difference produces polarized thermal emission even ...

Degree-scale observations of cosmic microwave background anisotropies

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1994
We report the first results of a millimeter search for cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropies, carried out by means of a balloon experiment (ARGO 1993). The experiment has observed 63 independent sky fields in Hercules, with an angular resolution of 52' FWHM, in four photometric bands at 2.0, 1.2, 0.8, and 0.5 mm.

Jones-matrix mapping of complex degree of mutual anisotropy of birefringent protein networks during the differentiation of myocardium necrotic changes.

open access: yesApplied Optics, 2016
The azimuthally stable method of Jones-matrix mapping of histological sections of myocardium tissue biopsy using spatial-frequency selection of the mechanisms of linear and circular birefringence is proposed.

Effects of machining surface and laser beam scanning strategy on machinability of selective laser melted Ti6Al4V alloy in milling

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2020
Overlapping melting trajectories and partially-melted powders result in poor surface morphology and high surface roughness values (Ra = ~13.34 μm) of selective laser melted (SLMed) Ti6Al4V alloy.
