Cosmic-structure constraints from a one-degree microwave-background anisotropy experiment
Physical Review Letters, 1991A recent anisotropy experiment with a 30-arcmin beam is close to optimal for testing models in which cosmic structure arose from inflation-generated Gaussian density perturbations. Using a Bayesian analysis to constrain the amplitude of the perturbation spectrum, it is shown that adiabatic hot-dark-matter models are convincingly ruled out and cold-dark-

In‐Plane Optical Anisotropy of Low‐Symmetry 2D GeSe
Advanced Optical Materials, 2018As a new member of 2D materials, GeSe has attracted considerable attention recently due to its fascinating in‐plane anisotropic vibrational, electrical, and optical properties originating from the low‐symmetry crystal structure.

Simulation of Osteoporosis Bone Changes: Effects on the Degree of Anisotropy
2001Osteoporosis is characterized by several kinds of microarchitecture changes, such as thinning or disconnection of trabeculae, or increase of resorption lacunae.l-3The first characterization of these trabecular bone alterations has been obtained by histomorphometry.4-7Several parameters characterizing the 3D microarchitecture of the trabecular bone ...

Complex degree of mutual anisotropy of biological liquid crystals net
Clinical and Biomedical Spectroscopy and Imaging II, 2011To characterize the degree of consistency of parameters of the optically uniaxial birefringent protein fibrils nets of biological tissues a new parameter — complex degree of mutual anisotropy is suggested. The technique of polarization measuring the coordinate distributions of the complex degree of mutual anisotropy of biological tissues is developed ...

Scale effects and strength anisotropy in coal
International Journal of Coal Geology, 2018We explore microstructure-related effects of loading direction and specimen size on the anisotropy of uniaxial compressive strength in coal. We measure uniaxial compressive strength on coal samples of four different diameters (25 to 75 mm) and with ...

THE ONE-DIMENSIONAL LTSN FORMULATION FOR HIGH DEGREE OF ANISOTROPY
Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 1999Abstract We present a recursive approach combining Schur’s decomposition and partition method to invert analytically the symbolic LTS N matrix. We also report numerical simulations for the scalar flux.

Unusual degree of angular anisotropy in the resonant Auger spectrum of Kr
Physical Review Letters, 1988The angular distribution parameter, ..beta.., has been measured for the resonant Auger spectra in Kr following 3d..-->..5p excitation. Unusually low values, close to -1, were seen for two bands. From optical spectroscopy data these bands are assigned to the final states 4p/sup 4/(/sup 3/P)5p(/sup 4/P/sub 5/2/, /sup 4/P/sub 3/2/, and /sup 4/D/sub 5/2/).

Thermal Anisotropy and Heat Flux Deviation Degree of Composites
ASME Journal of Heat and Mass TransferAbstract In numerous applications, particularly in aerospace (e.g., thermal protection systems), the research focuses on materials capable of thermal management, such as thermally insulating in one direction while conducting heat in its orthogonal direction. Anisotropic composite structures can meet such needs.
