Anisotropic Lattice Models of Electrolytes

open access: yes, 2002
Systems of charged particles on anisotropic three-dimensional lattices are investigated theoretically using Debye-Huckel theory. It is found that the thermodynamics of these systems strongly depends on the degree of anisotropy.

The McCance Brain Care Score and Mortality: Evidence From a Large‐Scale Population‐Based Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives This study aimed to examine the relationship between the McCance Brain Care Score (BCS) and mortality in the general population. Methods We conducted a prospective, population‐based cohort study using data from the UK Biobank. Participants with complete data enabling calculation of BCS and full mortality information were included ...

Giant Magnetic Anisotropy Induced by Ligand LS Coupling in Layered Cr Compounds.

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2019
We propose a novel origin of magnetic anisotropy to explain the unusual magnetic behaviors of layered ferromagnetic Cr compounds (3d^{3}) wherein the anisotropy field varies from ≲0.01 to ∼3  T on changing the ligand atom in a common hexagonal structure.

Association of Corticospinal Tract Asymmetry With Ambulatory Ability After Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ambulatory ability after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is important to patients. We tested whether asymmetry between ipsi‐ and contra‐lesional corticospinal tracts (CSTs) assessed by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is associated with post‐ICH ambulation.

Optical anisotropy of CsPbBr3 perovskite nanoplatelets

open access: yesNano Convergence, 2023
The two-dimensional CsPbBr3 nanoplatelets have a quantum well electronic structure with a band gap tunable with sample thicknesses in discreet steps based upon the number of monolayers.

Magnetization of Magnetically Inhomogeneous Sr2FeMoO6-δ Nanoparticles

open access: yesElectronic Materials, 2022
In this work, we describe the magnetization of nanosized SFMO particles with a narrow size distribution around ca. 70 nm fabricated by the citrate-gel technique.

Magnetic Reversal on Vicinal Surfaces

open access: yes, 1998
We present a theoretical study of in-plane magnetization reversal for vicinal ultrathin films using a one-dimensional micromagnetic model with nearest-neighbor exchange, four-fold anisotropy at all sites, and two-fold anisotropy at step edges. A detailed

New CMB Power Spectrum Constraints from MSAMI [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We present new cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy results from the combined analysis of the three flights of the first Medium Scale Anisotropy Measurement (MSAM1). This balloon-borne bolometric instrument measured about 10 square degrees of sky

Glymphatic Dysfunction Reflects Post‐Concussion Symptoms: Changes Within 1 Month and After 3 Months

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) may alter glymphatic function; however, its progression and variability remain obscure. This study examined glymphatic function following mTBI within 1 month and after 3 months post‐injury to determine whether variations in glymphatic function are associated with post‐traumatic symptom severity ...

Study on the bedding angle on the mechanical properties of shale

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2021
Conventional mechanical tests under static loading can prove that the angle of the shale bedding plane is the main reason for the anisotropy of its mechanical behavior.
