The Anitta text is the earliest example of Hittite propagandistic historiography. The name Hittite comes from the Hittite word for central Anatolia, Hatti. The language of Hittite is Indo-European and somewhat resembles other ancient Indo-European tongues, including Sanskrit and Mycenaean Greek.
