Magnetically Responsive Piezoelectric Nanocapacitors Enhance Neural Recovery Following Spinal Cord Injury via Targeted Spinal Magnetic Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel “in vivo–in vitro” therapeutic strategy for spinal cord injury by leveraging magnetically responsive piezoelectric nanomaterials. These nanomaterials enable targeted delivery of localized electrical stimulation at the injury site through noninvasive external magnetic actuation, thereby promoting axonal regeneration and ...

Rod‐Shaped Nanotherapeutics Alleviate Rheumatoid Arthritis by Precisely Disrupting Platelet‐Mediated Pathological Crosstalk via a Morphology‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Owing to the margination effect, rod‐shaped nanoparticles exhibit markedly enhanced co‐localization with endothelial‐adherent platelets (PLTs) under dynamic blood flow. When internalized by PLTs, rod‐shaped PNR@Res inhibit FAK and PI3K/AKT signaling in a morphology‐dependent manner, thereby disrupting their pathological crosstalk with various ...

Biarticular gastrocnemii muscles increase their joint energy transfer potential at high running speeds

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science
The involvement of energy transfer mechanisms between the ankle and the knee joint by the biarticular gastrocnemii muscles at high running speeds is currently unknown. During running at seven speeds (3.0–8.5 m s−1), the ankle and knee joint kinematics as

Changes in the Ankle Joint and Hindfoot Alignment Following Varus Deformity Correction of the Knee with Total Knee Arthroplasty

open access: yesFoot & Ankle Orthopaedics, 2017
Category: Ankle, Hindfoot Introduction/Purpose: Compensatory changes occur in the ankle joint and the subtalar joint of the hindfoot to maintain neutral alignment in coronal plane when varus or valgus deformity is present in the knee joint.

Mechanical Strain‐Programmed SDC1+ Sheath Fibroblasts Trigger CXCR4hi Neutrophil‐Mediated Enthesitis in Ankylosing Spondylitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In ankylosing spondylitis (AS), mechanical strain‐programmed SDC1+ sheath fibroblasts secrete CXCL5 to recruit neutrophils and promote the activation of CXCR4hi neutrophils, thereby exacerbating enthesitis by promoting neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) formation. SOX5 controls the generation of SDC1+ sheath fibroblasts via super‐enhancers.
