Congenital ankylosis of the elbow
The Journal of Pediatrics, 1955Summary The thirty-fifth case of congenital elbow ankylosis is reported. It is noted that this is also the tenth case of bilateral elbow ankylosis not associated with other anomalies and the first such case in the American literature. A review of the literature and an analysis of those cases reported are made.

This experimental study was undertaken for the purpose of investigating the changes that take place in the joint structures during the process of ankylosis. In a previous study 1 on the mobilization of ankylosed joints, it was observed that there was a marked difference in the reaction to injury between epiphyseal and diaphyseal bone.
