IT is well known that the relaxation of stress in glass during annealing does not follow the Maxwellian relaxation formula. Indeed, annealing schedules for glass are always based on Adams and Williamson‘s1empirical law that the reciprocal of the stress is proportional to the time.

Glass Film Formation on GOES Surface during High-Temperature Annealing: The Mechanism with Amorphous Phase Formation [PDF]
Ceramic insulation coating (glass film) is an important constituent of grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) designed for use in transformers. Within the scope of this study, the glass film was obtained by means of interaction between the surface of ...

Constrained annealing for spin glasses [PDF]
The quenched free energy of spin glasses is estimated by means of annealed averages where the frustration is constrained to its average value. We discuss the case of d-dimensional Ising models with random nearest neighbour coupling, and we introduce a new method to obtain constrained annealed averages without recurring to Lagrange multipliers.

Deposition of gold nanoparticles upon bare and indium tin oxide film coated glass based on annealing process [PDF]
We presented a simple and efficient strategy for deposition of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) upon transparent bare and indium tin oxide (ITO) film coated glass substrate using gold colloids as Au sources.

The recovery annealing process, which reheats the relaxed metallic glass (MG) to a certain temperature above glass transition temperature and subsequently rapid quenched, could tailor the sample to a less relaxed state, called as rejuvenation process ...

Further studies in the annealing of a borosilicate glass
Time-index of refraction isotherms for a borosilicate glass in the transformation region have been established. By comparing two quenched glasses of the same index, one quenched after attaining equilibrium at a given temperature and the other quenched from a temperature at which the specimen was approaching a higher value of index, curves similar to ...

Plasmonic molecules via glass annealing in hydrogen [PDF]
Abstract Growth of self-assembled metal nanoislands on the surface of silver ion-exchanged glasses via their thermal processing in hydrogen followed by out-diffusion of neutral silver is studied. The combination of thermal poling of the ion-exchanged glass with structured electrode and silver out-diffusion was used for simple formation of ...

A Study on Regulating the Residual Stress of Electroplated Cu by Manipulating the Nanotwin Directions [PDF]
Glass substrate, a new type of substrate with excellent mechanical and electrical properties of glass itself, has great potential to become an ideal platform for heterogeneous integration in chiplet systems for high-performance computing applications ...

In this paper, the impact of annealing at different temperatures (973 K, 1073 K, and 1123 K for 1 h) on the magnetic and microstructural properties of MnFePSi-based glass-coated microwires is studied.
