Quantum wavefunction annealing of spin glasses on ladders [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Mechanics: Theory and Experiment, 2007
A technique inspired on quantum annealing is proposed in order to obtain the classical ground state of a spin-glass by tracking the full wavefunction of a given system within the subspace of matrix product states (MPS), using the density matrix renormalization group (DMRG).

Low-temperture electrostatic silicon-to-silicon seals using sputtered borosilicate glass [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
Silicon members are hermetically sealed to each other. Process produces no measurable deformation of silicon surfaces and is compatible with package designs of tight tolerance.

Influence of thermal history on the structure and properties of silicate glasses

open access: yes, 2006
We studied a set of float glass samples prepared with different fictive temperature by previous annealing around the glass transition temperature. We compared the results to previous measurements on a series of amorphous silica samples, also prepared ...

Highly Efficient 3D‐Printed PVDF‐Based Triboelectric Nanogenerators Featuring Polymorphic Perovskite Nanofillers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the use of a low‐cost 3D printing technique to prepare a large‐area PVDF‐FAPbI3 composite dielectric film for flexible TENG application. The δ→α phase transformation of the FAPbI3 nanofillers has significantly improved the β‐phase content, morphology, and dielectric properties of the PVDF film.

Structural and optical properties of BaTiO3 thin films prepared by pulsed laser deposition

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Physics, 2012
BaTiO3 thin films have been deposited on Si (111) and glass substrates by using pulsed laser deposition technique. The films were characterized by using X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscope and optical transmission spectra.

Effect of SiO2 ratio on electrical Properties of SiO2:ZnO Thin Films Prepared by pulsed laser depositions (PLD) technique

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Pure Science, 2019
In this paper zinc oxide was dopped by various concentrations (5,10,15,20,25) % of silicon dioxide. The mixture was deposited on glass substrate by laser pulse deposition at room temperature to obtain (Zn2SiO4) thin films.

Relation Between the Defect Interactions and the Serration Dynamics in a Zr-Based Bulk Metallic Glass

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
For this study, the effects of thermal annealing and compressive strain rate on the complexity of the serration behavior in a Zr-based bulk metallic glass (BMG) was investigated.

Practical remarks on annealing flint-glass [PDF]

open access: yesAbstracts of the Papers Communicated to the Royal Society of London
This paper is entirely occupied with practical details relating to the art of annealing flint-glass and depriving it of colour, the author stating that he leaves the rationale of these facts to be explained by philosophers. He thinks, however, that they are reconcileable with the theory of Scheele, as explained by Bergman, and detailed by Murray in his

Ferrocene Derivatives Enable Ultrasensitive Perovskite Photodetectors with Enhanced Reverse Bias Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

Solution‐Processable and Ambient‐Stable Highly Conductive p‐Type Polymers Derived from Dihydropyrazine and Ethylenedioxythiophene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents π–conjugated polymers based on dihydropyrazine (DHP) and ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT), developed to produce highly conductive, flexible films for printed electronics. By optimizing the DHP and EDOT ratio, strong and compact π–π stacking is achieved, resulting in polymer films with conductivities up to 1700 S cm−1 under ambient ...
