Estimating the Annual Incremental Cost of Several Complications Following Pulmonary Lobectomy

Seminars in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 2016
Determine the incremental increase in cost as well as length of hospital stay associated with several major complications following pulmonary lobectomy using a large national dataset. A retrospective cohort analysis of the 2012 National Inpatient Sample, Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project database was performed.

Annual Periodicity of Incremental Growth in the Moss Polytrichum commune

The Bryologist, 1975
In the temperate moss species Polytrichum commune Hedw. field studies demonstrated that growth segments which are formed by changing patterns of leaf morphology are repeated annually. Evidence for exceedingly smallscale microhabitat variability in available water was found in the scattered distribution of desiccated stems in space and time, throughout ...

Patterns of Annual Xylem Increment Integrated by Contour Presentation

Canadian Journal of Forest Research, 1973
A functional method of bringing together the patterns in the annual increment of wood in the stem and root of a tree is presented and related to the analyses of Duff and Nolan. Alternative terms for the three growth analysis sequences of these authors are suggested.

Modelling seasonal increments in size to determine the onset of annual growth in fishes

Journal of Fish Biology, 2008
A new method based on modelling of seasonal growth increments (GSI) in total length was found useful for assessing the date of onset of annual growth for 16 fish species in a temperate fluvial lake. Model comparisons indicated that polynomial (linear or quadratic) functions provided better fits to seasonal growth and were more likely to avoid ...

The visual quality of annual growth increments in fish otoliths increases with latitude

Fisheries Research, 2019
Abstract This study evaluated the latitudinal influence on otolith readability through average percent error (APE) assessments and contrast ratios evaluations of the opaque and translucent incremental zones in Micropogonias furnieri otoliths (n = 83) sampled along the Southwestern Atlantic Ocean. Otolith images show well-structured increments in high

Why Do Labor Contracts Offer Guaranteed Annual Wage Increments?

Southern Economic Journal, 1996
An interesting feature of wage contracts for tenured academic staff in United Kingdom universities is that they formally embody the principal that wages should increase with seniority. Individuals are hired at, or near, the bottom of a wage scale that has seventeen different wage levels each separated by approximately 5%.

The incremental information content of the final annual report in Australia : an event study

2023
This thesis reports the results of an investigation into the response of investors to the release of the Final Annual Report (FAR) in Australia. If there is information content within the FAR then the market will respond through return and volume variances. Both of these measures are indicators of the information content and hence relevance of the FAR.

The Annual Increment of the Antlers of: the Red Deer (Cervus elaphus)

Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London, 1926
Summary. The weights of the successive pairs of antlers of 37 Red Deer, 34 from the Warnham Court herd, are recorded. 33 series are recorded for the first time. The mean annual increments in antler‐weight for the Warnham Court herd are as follows: (a) for all specimens for which data exist for 2 successive years; (b) for specimens for which data exist ...
