Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Influence of Climatic Factors on Annual Rings of Conifers

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung C, 1999
Abstract Relationships of the width of annual rings of 75-85-year old Pinns sylvestris L. and Picea abies (L.) Karst, with average monthly temperature, amount of precipitation and a complex climatic indicator developed on their basis was studied against the background of pollution load in the zone influenced by a cement plant and in a ...

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Hidden Markov random field and FRAME modelling for TCA-image analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
Tooth Cementum Annulation (TCA) is an age estimation method carried out on thin cross sections of the root of human teeth. Age is computed by adding the tooth eruption age to the count of annual incremental lines that are called tooth rings and appear in
