Investigation of Rotating Detonation Waves in an Annular Gap
Proceedings of the Steklov Institute of Mathematics, 2020The authors numerically solve a problem of formation of rotating 3D detonation waves in an annular gap between parallel plates. They consider the case of a propane-air mixture, assuming that the reaction occurs under stoichiometry. They write the system of nonsteady Euler equations for an ideal multicomponent reaction mixture, in a conservative form ...

Heat transfer in an annular gap
International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 1978Abstract Heat-transfer coefficients were measured for the flow in the annular space between an inner rotating cylinder and an outer stationary one, with superimposed axial flow. The problem was stimulated by the desire for additional information on the design of cooling systems for electric motors of high power density.

Inner Annular Gap and Related Topics
Chinese Journal of Astronomy and Astrophysics, 2006Geometrical properties of the annular gap model, efforts of observational tests on it and applications of the model to explain the bi-drifting phenomenon are introduced in this paper. It was shown that in the frame of the annular gap model the observed γ-ray and radio radiation properties of pulsars can be well reproduced.

Annular Gap Junctions of the Equine Hoof Wall
Cells Tissues Organs, 1983Incidental to studies of keratinization of the equine hoof wall, annular gap junctions were found in the stratum spinosum of the intertubular horn of the stratum medium. Adjacent cells of the stratum spinosum showed extensive gap junctions, and often local invaginations of one cell into another were bound by gap junctions.

Bridging the gap between annular and can-annular acoustic spectra
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of AmericaIn the literature on thermoacoustic instabilities in combustors, a distinction is typically made between annular and can-annular systems because these are the most common gas turbine architectures. In reality, however, annular combustors typically feature discretely symmetric elements, such as burner tubes, and can-annular combustors feature an ...

Development of annular gap junctions in guinea pig epithelia
Journal of Oral Pathology & Medicine, 1979Abstract. Epithelia from skin, palate, buccal mucosa and dorsal tongue were studied in normal and zinc deficient guinea pigs by transmission electron microscopy. Gap junctions (nexuses) were observed primarily in the basal and prickle cell layers.

Degradation of Annular Gap Junctions of the Equine Hoof Wall
Cells Tissues Organs, 1984Annular gap junctions interiorized within cells of the stratum spinosum of the coronary border of the equine hoof were degraded by two methods. Some were autophagocytized and some appeared to fuse with lysosomes to form heterophagosomes. Structural changes of partially degraded annular gap junctions included increased density of the enclosed cytoplasm,

Analysis of natural convection in narrow annular gaps of LMFBR.
Journal of Nuclear Science and Technology, 1986The natural convection characteristics of gas in a vertical narrow annular gap which had its bottom opened to high temperature fluid and its upper shielding exposed to low temperature sealant have been evaluated from simulated fluid experiments using water and from calculations using the three-dimensional thermal hydraulic analysis computer code ...

Mass transfer in a rotating annular gap
Theoretical Foundations of Chemical Engineering, 2006The mass transfer in a rotating annular gap is theoretically calculated. The calculation results are compared with experimental data on the desorption of carbon dioxide from an aqueous solution into air.

Measurement of annular air-gap using active infrared thermography
Infrared Physics & Technology, 2013Abstract The paper discusses an infrared thermography (IRT) based procedure for quantification of annular air-gap in cylindrical geometries. Different annular air-gaps are simulated using aluminum hollow cylinders and solid stainless steel inserts of varying diameters. The specimens are externally heated using a hot air-gun and the temperature of the
