Compliant Pneumatic Feet with Real‐Time Stiffness Adaptation for Humanoid Locomotion
A compliant pneumatic foot with real‐time variable stiffness enables humanoid robots to adapt to changing terrains. Using onboard vision and pressure control, the foot modulates stiffness within each gait cycle, reducing impact forces and improving balance. The design, cast in soft silicone with embedded air chambers and Kevlar wrapping, offers durable,

Study of the spatial and temporal coherence of high order harmonics [PDF]
We apply the theory of high-order harmonic generation by low-frequency laser fields in the strong field approximation to the study of the spatial and temporal coherence properties of the harmonics. We discuss the role of dynamically induced phases of the

CFD study on the effect of particle properties on the performance of annular jet pump
Abstract The annular jet pump is a type of fluid mechanical pump that operates by exchanging momentum with the fluid. Annular jet pumps possess distinctive advantages in the transportation of solid particles. However, the efficiency of these pumps is significantly impacted by both the physical properties of the particles and their ...

Origami‐Inspired Structural Design for Aquatic‐Terrestrial Amphibious Robots
This work presents a lightweight amphibious origami robot actuated by a single shape memory alloy wire. A rigid foldable origami structure with displacement amplification enables efficient terrestrial crawling and aquatic swimming. The addition of fan‐shaped units allows controllable turning in both environments.

3D‐Nanoprinted Fluidically Steerable Soft Robotic Microcatheters
This work introduces a ∼3‐French (1 mm‐in‐diameter) soft robotic microcatheter fabricated by means of two‐photon direct laser writing. The 3D‐printed microcatheter enables remote, on‐demand steering via microfluidic actuation for guidewire‐free navigation of vascular networks as well as microcatheter‐mediated delivery of fluidic payloads to target ...

Linear force and moment equations for an annular smooth shaft seal perturbed both angularly and laterally [PDF]
Coefficients are derived for equations expressing the lateral force and pitching moments associated with both planar translation and angular perturbations from a nominally centered rotating shaft with respect to a stationary seal.
