Numerical Prediction of Performance of Annular-Type Jet Pump.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series B, 1997
Jet pumps are used in a great number of engineering applications. However, no numerical method for determining the performance has been established yet. In the present study, focusing on turbulence models, a numerical method for predicting the performance of an annular-type jet pump is investigated. The flow fields are simulated by solving Reynolds and

Model predictions and experimental results for the rotordynamic characteristics of leakage flows in centrifugal pumps [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
The role played by fluid forces in determining the rotordynamic stability and characteristics of a centrifugal pump is gaining increasing attention. The present research investigates the contributions to the rotordynamic forces from the discharge-to ...

3D (Bio) Printing Combined Fiber Fabrication Methods for Tissue Engineering Applications: Possibilities and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Influence of suction chamber profile on flow field of annular jet pump

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2019
Abstract Jet pump is a kind of fluid machinery, which uses jet shear and turbulent diffusion to transfer mass and energy. It is widely used in water project, civil engineering and other fields. In order to investigate the influence of suction chamber profile on flow field of annular jet pump, the conical suction chamber and the ...

Dual‐Layer Living Hydrogel Enables On‐Demand Delivery of Phages and Probiotics for Synergistic Wound Infection Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐layer living hydrogel, ProΦGel, integrates bacteriophages and probiotics for synergistic wound infection therapy. The outer gelatin‐based matrix releases phages on demand in response to P. aeruginosa infections, while inner alginate beads sustain probiotic delivery.

Artifact‐Minimizing Ultrathin Transparent Electrodes Fabricated via iCVD for In Vivo Optogenetic Stimulation and Neural Signal Monitoring of Primary Visual Cortex

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present ultrathin flexible transparent electrodes through iCVD‐enabled molecular control of 10 nm gold films on poly(dimethylaminomethylstyrene). In vivo validation demonstrated photoelectric artifact reduction vs. opaque electrodes and preservation of natural neural dynamics.
