Segmental Snare Traction Technique for Helix‐Fixed Leadless Pacemaker Implantation Across a Repaired Tricuspid Annulus

open access: yesPacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Helix‐fixed leadless pacemaker delivery can be challenging after tricuspid annuloplasty with a rigid ring. An 80‐year‐old woman with prior mitral valve repair, tricuspid annuloplasty (26‐mm MC ring), and Maze III surgery presented with syncope due to atrial fibrillation with a slow ventricular response. Standard maneuvers failed to advance the

Eight-year outcomes of tricuspid annuloplasty using autologous pericardial strip for functional tricuspid regurgitation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
BACKGROUND: Although several techniques of tricuspid annuloplasty have been used to treat tricuspid regurgitation (TR), TR can persist or recur with redilatation of the annulus or disease progression.

Midterm comparison between different annuloplasty techniques for functional tricuspid regurgitation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
BACKGROUND Several tricuspid annuloplasty (TA) techniques are used for concomitant repair of functional tricuspid regurgitation (TR). This study compared the midterm clinical and valvular outcome among 3 annuloplasty techniques. METHODS TA was performed

Mitral Annular Forces and Their Potential Impact on Annuloplasty Ring Selection

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2022
Objectives: To provide an overview that describes the characteristics of a mitral annuloplasty device when treating patients with a specific type of mitral regurgitation according to Carpentier's classification of mitral regurgitation. Methods: Starting ...

Ring-first Mitral Valve Repair [PDF]

open access: yesResearch Ideas and Outcomes, 2020
Mitral valve repair is one of the most frequent interventions in cardiac surgery. It involves eliminating the dysfunctional part(s) of the mitral valve and reconstructing, using the residual tissue or with the addition of prosthetic components, a ...

The Novel ACTC1 p.Gly50Ser Variant Is Associated With Arrhythmia and Secondary Features of HCM Without Hypertrophy

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, Volume 200, Issue 7, Page 1742-1748, July 2026.
ABSTRACT The key diagnostic criterion for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is the presence of otherwise unexplained hypertrophy. Current definitions of HCM rely on specific thresholds to establish a diagnosis, while guideline directed risk stratification algorithms take its magnitude into consideration.

Impact of aortic root annuloplasty on 3D aortic root geometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
BACKGROUND The aim was to evaluate the impact of aortic root (AoR) annuloplasty on 3D AoR deformation. METHODS In experimental setup, Yacoub procedure and Yacoub with annuloplasty were performed. Results were compared to native AoR.

Imaging and Patient Selection for Transcatheter Tricuspid Valve Interventions

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2020
With the emergence of transcatheter solutions for the treatment of tricuspid regurgitation (TR) increased attention has been directed to the once neglected tricuspid valve (TV) complex.

Aortic annulus and the importance of annuloplasty [PDF]

open access: yesIndian Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 2019
Dystrophic aortic insufficiency accounts for the majority of Western cases of aortic insufficiency and can be divided into the three phenotypes of isolated aortic insufficiency, dilated aortic root, and dilated ascending aorta. Each of these phenotypes is associated with a dilated annulus and/or sinotubular junction.

Simultaneous Transvenous Lead Extraction and Intra‐Operative Epicardial Extravascular Defibrillator (EV‐ICD) Implantation During Tricuspid Valve Replacement

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Transvalvular device leads are undesirable following tricuspid valve replacement. Simultaneous lead extraction and intra‐operative EV‐ICD implantation can provide ongoing defibrillator therapy without crossing the prosthetic valve and may avoid the need for additional pacing hardware when atrioventricular conduction is preserved.
