Effect of oxidizing concentration on the corrosion resistance of the cerium conversion coating on galvanized steel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Ce-based conversion films have been assessed as alternatives for replacement of Cr6+-based films, which have been forbidden for their toxicity and carcinogenic properties.

Kinetic Regimes of Hydrogen Absorption in Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Knowledge of the hydrogen incorporation mechanisms in thin layers in relation to the amount absorbed is essential to design coatings and devices compatible with hydrogen‐based technologies. A combination of simultaneous in situ methods gives detailed insight into the hydrogenation of a prototypical hydrogen absorber layer in a time‐dependent manner ...

Oxidation of gallium arsenide in a plasma multipole device. Study of the MOS structures obtained [PDF]

open access: yes
The oxygen plasma oxidation of GaAs was studied in order to obtain extremely high frequency responses with MOS devices. In the multipole system a homogeneous oxygen plasma of high density can easily be obtained in a large volume.

MXene/PEDOT Functional Coatings on Flexible Microelectrode Arrays for Multianalyte In Vivo Neurochemical Sensing and Electrophysiology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A MXene/PEDOT coating enables multimodal functionality and dual‐analyte detection of dopamine and serotonin in flexible microelectrode arrays while enhancing electrophysiological recording quality. The anti‐fouling, low‐impedance interface overcomes key limitations of conventional coatings, providing a robust and versatile platform to investigate the ...

Memristor‐Driven Active‐Matrix Organic Light‐Emitting Diode for Energy Efficient and High‐Resolution Displays

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that memristors can replace conventional 2T–1C driving circuits with simplified 1T–1 m architectures by exploiting resistance switching. With ultra‐low switching voltages (< ±0.2 V) and multi‐level resistance states, the memristors precisely control the current injected into organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs).

Residual‐Lithium‐to‐LiF Conversion Enables a LiF–Fluorinated Carbon Interphase for Reconstruction‐Resistant Ni‐Rich Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fluorine‐rich acrylate monomer (PFHEA) was solvent‐free applied to NCM90 and thermally decomposed under Ar to convert residual lithium into LiF and form a pre‐built LiF/fluorinated amorphous carbon (LiF/FC) interphase. The LiF/FC layer suppresses NiO rock‐salt reconstruction and microcrack propagation, lowers interfacial resistance, and improves Li ...
