CORROSION 1981, 1981Abstract Results of inspection and examination of anodes operating at sea are presented. The effects of quality of anode material and current density on the performance of anodes are discussed. The "end effect" is explained and conclusions drawn as to the optimal shape of anode.

Anodic Dissolution of Metals—Anomalous Valence
1974When metals are dissolved anodically in aqueous and nonaqueous media, the weight of metal dissolved is sometimes greater than that calculated from Faraday’s law assuming normal oxidation states. Among several metals of industrial importance, Al, Be, Cd, Fe, Pb, Mg, Ti, and Zn exhibit this phenomenon.

Anodic dissolution of tellurium in acid solutions
Electrochimica Acta, 1968The potential of tellurium anodes was measured in HClO4, H2SO4 and HNO3 as a function of cd and acid concentration. The results indicate the formation of telluryl ion, TeO2H+, in the pH range 0–0·8, tellurous acid, H2TeO3, above pH 1·8, and both products at intermediate pH.
