Fabrication of porous anodic alumina using normal anodization and pulse anodization

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2015
This article reports on the fabrication of porous anodic alumina (PAA) by two-step anodizing the low purity commercial aluminum sheets at room temperature. Different variations of the second-step anodization were conducted: normal anodization (NA) with direct current potential difference; pulse anodization (PA) alternate between potential differences ...

Luminescent structures based on porous anodic alumina

2008 18th International Crimean Conference - Microwave & Telecommunication Technology, 2008
In this study, the possibility of fabrication of europium- and terbium-doped structures based on porous anodic alumina (PAA) grown in orthophosphoric and oxalic acid electrolytes, has been investigated. Europium or terbium ions were introduced in the pores of anodic alumina by either impregnation with sols or by immersion in alcoholic solution ...

Porous Anodic Alumina Growth in Borax Electrolyte

Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 2012
Ion beam analysis and electron microscopy have been employed to investigate the formation of anodic films on aluminum in a borax electrolyte under potentiostatic conditions. The results indicate the initial growth of a barrier film, containing boron species, followed by growth of boron-free alumina, containing pores.

A Tracer Study of Porous Anodic Alumina

Electrochemical and Solid-State Letters, 2006
The present study employs a tungsten tracer incorporated into the aluminum substrate to investigate the development of porosity in anodic alumina formed in phosphoric acid electrolyte. An unusual inversion of the tracer distribution is revealed as the tracer layer traverses the barrier region.

Three-dimensional nanostructures from porous anodic alumina

MRS Communications, 2012
We report on the synthesis of unique tetragonal nanostructures from porous anodic aluminum oxide that enables geometrical threedimensional (3D) microdesign of the porous surfaces. Scanning electron microscopy study revealed self-organization of hollow oxide nanostructures into hierarchical arrays.

Porous carbon nanoturf using anodized alumina templating

MRS Proceedings, 2003
ABSTRACTThis paper reports the development of porous carbon nanoturfs using alumina templating method. The nanoporous carbon has a pore size of 4 -5 Å. The length of the pillars in the carbon nanoturf was a function of temperature. It was shown that the pyrolysis of the polymer precursor reduces the dimensions of the polymer only in axial direction as ...

Oxide Dissolution Treatment of Porous Anodic Alumina

Advanced Materials Research, 2015
In this study, oxide dissolution treatment was used for the formation of well ordered porous anodic alumina. Porous anodic alumina was formed on mechanically polished high purity aluminium by anodizing at 50 V in 0.3 M oxalic acid of 15°C for 60 minutes.

Anodic Porous Alumina Masks with Checkerboard Pattern

Applied Physics Express, 2010
An Anodic porous alumina mask with a checkerboard pattern was by forming of square cells and subsequently opening the bottom part of the cells by etching. The anodization of Al with a pretextured pattern, which was formed by imprinting using a mold with alternating defects in the array of convexes in a square lattice, and selective etching of the cells

Blue luminescence in porous anodic alumina films

Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2007
We have investigated the luminescence property of anodic alumina membranes (AAM) with ordered nanopore arrays prepared by electrochemically anodizing aluminium in oxalic acid, sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid solutions. The photoluminescence (PL) intensity of AAM prepared in C2H2O4 is much higher than that of AAMs prepared in H2SO4 and H3PO4.
