Spin‐Orbit Torque Induced by Switchable Crystal Inversion Symmetry Breaking

An exotic crystal inversion symmetry breaking in SrRuO3/BiFeO3 heterostructure is revealed, and it can be reversibly manipulated by the ferroelectric polarization of BiFeO3. Topological Point Defects in SmC* Liquid Crystals Under Mechanical Disturbance

Tangetial air jet shear inducess island formation and nucleates topological point defects in uniform SmC films. Island bounded by edge dislocation loops shrink and transform into isolated point defects under continued shear.
