Anomalous Diffusion in Aperiodic Environments [PDF]
We study the Brownian motion of a classical particle in one-dimensional inhomogeneous environments where the transition probabilities follow quasiperiodic or aperiodic distributions.

Anomalous Diffusion in Velocity Space [PDF]
The problem of anomalous diffusion in the momentum space is considered on the basis of the appropriate probability transition function (PTF). New general equation for description of the diffusion of heavy particles in the gas of the light particles is ...

Anomalous biased diffusion in networks [PDF]
We study diffusion with a bias towards a target node in networks. This problem is relevant to efficient routing strategies in emerging communication networks like optical networks. Bias is represented by a probability $p$ of the packet/particle to travel

Anomalous diffusion inspires anatomical insights. [PDF]
The narrow spaces between the cells of the brain are a highway for diffusing molecular traffic. In this issue, Xiao et al. (1) use experiments and Monte Carlo modeling to show that molecular transport in the granular layer of the rat cerebellum must be described by anomalous diffusion mediated by anatomical structures called glomeruli.

Fractal model of anomalous diffusion. [PDF]
An equation of motion is derived from fractal analysis of the Brownian particle trajectory in which the asymptotic fractal dimension of the trajectory has a required value. The formula makes it possible to calculate the time dependence of the mean square displacement for both short and long periods when the molecule diffuses anomalously.

Anomalous Heat Diffusion [PDF]
Consider anomalous energy spread in solid phases, i.e., $MSD= \int (x -{\langle x \rangle}_E)^2 _E(x,t)dx \propto t^ $, as induced by a small initial excess energy perturbation distribution $ _{E}(x,t=0)$ away from equilibrium. The associated total thermal equilibrium heat flux autocorrelation function $C_{JJ}(t)$ is shown to obey rigorously the ...

Anomalous diffusion with absorbing boundary [PDF]
In a very long Gaussian polymer on time scales shorter that the maximal relaxation time, the mean squared distance travelled by a tagged monomer grows as ~t^{1/2}. We analyze such sub-diffusive behavior in the presence of one or two absorbing boundaries and demonstrate the differences between this process and the sub-diffusion described by the ...

Algebraic Correlation Function and Anomalous Diffusion in the HMF model [PDF]
In the quasi-stationary states of the Hamiltonian Mean-Field model, we numerically compute correlation functions of momenta and diffusion of angles with homogeneous initial conditions.
