Smart Face Masks as Wearable Respiratory Sensors: A Review of Sensor Technologies, Materials, and Future Directions

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in smart face masks that actively monitor breathing. By integrating humidity, gas, temperature, pressure, strain, and triboelectric sensors, these masks track key respiratory parameters in real time. The article summarizes sensor mechanisms, compares performance across studies, and discusses challenges and future ...

Transient Charging of Mixed Ionic‐Electronic Conductors by Anomalous Diffusion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This article explores charge transport in mixed ionic‐electronic conductors (MIECs) through electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and transient current analysis. Focusing on PEDOT:PSS, WO3, and n‐doped PBDF, it uncovers the impact of anomalous diffusion via fractional modeling. The study reveals key correlations that deepen understanding and guide the

Microscopic Insights into Magnetic Warping and Time‐Reversal Symmetry Breaking in Topological Surface States of Rare‐Earth‐Doped Bi2Te3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the

Fractal model of anomalous diffusion [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Biophysics Journal, 2015
An equation of motion is derived from fractal analysis of the Brownian particle trajectory in which the asymptotic fractal dimension of the trajectory has a required value. The formula makes it possible to calculate the time dependence of the mean square displacement for both short and long periods when the molecule diffuses anomalously.

AnomalousNet: a hybrid approach with attention U-Nets and change point detection for accurate characterization of anomalous diffusion in video data

open access: yesJPhys Photonics
Anomalous diffusion is ubiquitous in systems ranging from intracellular transport and porous-medium flow to animal foraging, and its quantification requires robust methods that cope with short and noisy trajectories.

2D Co‐Mo‐Hydroxide‐Based Multifunctional Material for the Development of H2‐Based Clean Energy Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
2D α‐Co(OH)2 interleaved with Mo species displays an appealing dual functionality for the production and use of green hydrogen.Mo incorporation greatly benefits the electrochemical behaviour in Oxygen Evolution Reaction for H2 production, while the magnetocaloric response at liquid H2 temperature paves the way for alternative cryogenic refrigerants ...

Pointwise prediction of protein diffusive properties using machine learning

open access: yesJPhys Photonics
The understanding of cellular mechanisms benefits substantially from accurate determination of protein diffusive properties. Prior work in this field primarily focuses on traditional methods, such as mean square displacements, for calculation of protein ...

Front propagation in reaction-diffusion systems with anomalous diffusion

open access: yes, 2014
A numerical study of the role of anomalous diffusion in front propagation in reaction-diffusion systems is presented. Three models of anomalous diffusion are considered: fractional diffusion, tempered fractional diffusion, and a model that combines ...
