Ferromagnetism in vanadium-doped Bi2Se3 topological insulator films

open access: yesAPL Materials, 2017
With molecular beam epitaxy, we grew uniformly vanadium-doped Bi2Se3 films which exhibit ferromagnetism with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. A systematic study on the magneto-transport properties of the films revealed the crucial role of topological ...

2D Inorganic Electrides: Interstitial Electrons as Key Drivers of Multifunctional Properties and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Eight AB‐type 2D inorganic electrides with negatively charged transition metals are theoretically designed. Their monolayers exhibit intrinsic magnetic ordering, rich topological phases, and ultralow work functions. Supported metal Ru on these 2D inorganic electrides effectively alleviates hydrogen poisoning and enables efficient ammonia synthesis ...

Emergent Spin Fluctuation and Structural Metastability in Self‐Intercalated Cr1+xTe2${\rm Cr}_{1+x}{\rm Te}_2$ Compounds

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Metastable superstructure and emergent spin fluctuation in self‐intercalated Cr1+xTe2${\rm Cr}_{1+x}{\rm Te}_2$ ABSTRACT Intercalated van der Waals (vdW) magnetic materials host unique magnetic properties due to the interplay of competing interlayer and intralayer exchange couplings, which depend on the intercalant concentration within the van der ...

Atomically Modulating Competing Exchange Interactions in Centrosymmetric Skyrmion Hosts GdRu2X2 (X = Si and Ge)

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Our work bridges the gap between skyrmion discovery and material design by demonstrating how atomic‐scale control of exchange interactions enables tunable skyrmion phase transitions in centrosymmetric magnetic metals. ABSTRACT Magnetic skyrmions are topologically protected spin states that hold promise for shaping the future of electronics.

Dichotomy of magnetic effect between Weyl fermions and anomalous Hall effect in PrAlSi

open access: yesCommunications Materials
Three key aspects of magnetic topological materials, i.e., band topology, magnetic order and anomalous transport are closed related with each other, laying the ground for exotic phenomena such as topological magnetoelectric and magneto-optical effects ...

Study on Anomalous Hall Effect and Spin–Orbit Torque Effect of TbCo-Based Multilayer Films

open access: yesNanomaterials
The anomalous Hall effect and spin–orbit torque of TbCo-based multilayer films have been methodically studied in recent years. Many properties of the films can be obtained by the anomalous Hall resistance loops of the samples. We report on the effects of

Uranium Doped Gallium Nitride Epitaxial Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Uranium was controllably added to gallium nitride using molecular beam epitaxy. The uranium atoms segregated into vertically oriented regions with higher doping levels. Concentrations up to a few percent were achieved without showing significant degradation in the crystalline quality or optical characteristics. Low electrical resistivity was maintained

Nonlinear Transverse Transport in a Ferromagnetic Polar Metal

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This work reports the observation of a nonlinear transverse response in ferromagnetic polar SrRuO3(111) thin films. The nonlinear signal exhibits a sharp enhancement across the magnetic phase transition. Through detailed scaling and theoretical analysis, the authors attribute this behavior to a sign reversal of the Berry curvature triple, establishing ...
