Bounds on radii and anomalous magnetic dipole moments of quarks and leptons from LEP, SLC and HERA [PDF]

open access: yesZeitschrift für Physik C Particles and Fields, 1995
Leptons, quarks and gauge bosons are assumed to be pointlike particles in the Standard Model. Stringent bounds on the radii of quarks and leptons and their weak anomalous magnetic moments can be derived from the high-precision measurements at LEP and SLC. We find a model-independent bound ofR≲10−17 cm for quark and lepton radii.

A large muon EDM from dark matter

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We explore a model of dark matter (DM) that can explain the reported discrepancy in the muon anomalous magnetic moment and predict a large electric dipole moment (EDM) of the muon.

Testing new physics with the electron g-2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We argue that the anomalous magnetic moment of the electron (a_e) can be used to probe new physics. We show that the present bound on new-physics contributions to a_e is 8*10^-13, but the sensitivity can be improved by about an order of magnitude with ...

Axial vector transition form factors in holographic QCD and their contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2019
We evaluate axial vector transition form factors in holographic QCD models that have been shown to reproduce well recent experimental and theoretical results for the pion transition form factor.

Preparations for a search of the muon EDM at PSI [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2023
Electric dipole moments (EDMs) of fundamental particles violate time invariance and the combined symmetry of charge and parity (CP). The existence of a large muon EDM (muEDM) is made plausible by tensions with Standard Model predictions for semileptonic ...

Quark electric dipole moment induced by magnetic field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We show numerically that quarks develop an electric dipole moment in the direction of a sufficiently intense magnetic field due to local fluctuations of topological charge.

TAU-PAIR PRODUCTION VIA PHOTON-PHOTON COLLISIONS AT LEP [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
We point out that the cross-section for the process $e^+ e^- \to e^+ e^- \tau^+ \tau^-$ at LEP is large enough to allow for a study of the anomalous electromagnetic couplings of the $\tau$ lepton.

Muon electric dipole moment as a probe of flavor-diagonal CP violation

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2022
Electric dipole moments (EDMs) of elementary particles are powerful probes of new physics with flavor-diagonal CP violation. The reported discrepancy in the muon anomalous magnetic moment motivates us to explore to what extent new physics with flavor ...
