Tunable anomalous Hall and Nernst effects in MM′X compounds [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2022
Abstract Based on first-principles calculations, the anomalous Hall conductivity (AHC) and anomalous Nernst conductivities (ANCs) of the XMnP (X = Ti, Zr, Hf) compounds are evaluated, and the possibility to tailor such properties in compounds susceptible to changing the magnetization directions is also investigated.

Magneto-thermoelectric effects mapping using tip-induced temperature gradient in atomic force microscopy

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2023
Mapping magneto-thermoelectric effects, such as the anomalous Nernst effect, are crucial to optimize devices that convert thermal energy to electric energy.

Scattering-independent anomalous Nernst effect in ferromagnets [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 2013
Using the full-potential linearized augmented plane-wave method within the density functional theory, we compute all contributions to the scattering independent part of the thermoelectric conductivity tensor, namely the intrinsic contribution and the side-jump contribution.

Anomalous spin Nernst effect in Weyl semimetals [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2019
Abstract The spin Nernst effect describes a transverse spin current induced by the longitudinal thermal gradient in a system with the spin–orbit coupling. Here we study the spin Nernst effect in a mesoscopic four-terminal cross-bar Weyl semimetal device under a perpendicular magnetic field.

Large anomalous Nernst effect in the ferromagnetic Fe3Si polycrystal

open access: yes
The high-throughput calculation predicts that the Fe-based cubic ferromagnet Fe$_3$Si may exhibit a large anomalous Nernst effect (ANE). Here, we report our experimental observation of the large Nernst coefficient $S_{yx}\sim$2 $\mu$V/K and the ...

Progress Review on Topological Properties of Heusler Materials [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
Starting from crystal, electronic and magnetic structures of Heusler compounds, this paper studies the new topological materials related to Heusler compounds and their topological properties, such as anomalous Hall effect, skyrmions, chiral anomaly ...

Anomalous Nernst effect in La0.5Ca0.5Coo3

open access: yes, 2022
We report the occurrence of the anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) in polycrystalline perovskite La0.5Ca0.5CoO3. The sample is ferromagnetic below TC = 147 K and resistivity shows non-metallic behavior above and below the TC with only a small negative magnetoresistance (~2%) around TC.

Anomalous Nernst effect in Mn3NiN thin films

open access: yes, 2023
The observation of a sizable anomalous Hall effect in magnetic materials with vanishing magnetization has renewed interest in understanding and engineering this phenomenon.

Fluctuational anomalous Hall and Nernst effects in superconductors

open access: yesAnnals of Physics, 2020
In this work we develop microscopic kinetic theory of the anomalous Hall and Nernst effects in superconductors induced by fluctuations in the vicinity of the critical transition temperature. The technical analysis is carried out within the Matsubara diagrammatic technique and linear response Kubo formula with disorder averaging and an analytical ...

Exchange-biased topological transverse thermoelectric effects in a Kagome ferrimagnet

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
Kagome metal TbMn6Sn6 was recently discovered to be a ferrimagnetic topological Dirac material. Here, the authors observe anomalous Nernst effect and anomalous thermal Hall effect which exhibit asymmetry with respect to the magnetic field.
