Probing a neural unreliability account of auditory sensory processing atypicalities in Rett Syndrome

open access: yesJournal of Neurodevelopmental Disorders
Background In the search for objective tools to quantify neural function in Rett Syndrome (RTT), which are crucial in the evaluation of therapeutic efficacy in clinical trials, recordings of sensory-perceptual functioning using event-related potential ...

Training an Anomalous Noise Event Detection Algorithm for Dynamic Road Traffic Noise Mapping: Environmental Noise Recording Campaign

open access: yes, 2015
The LIFE+ DYNAMAP project aims at creating dynamic road traffic noise maps automatically upon the levels measured by a low cost sensors network. To ensure these maps reflect the acoustic impact of road infrastructures, it is necessary to exclude other acoustic sources (e.g.

Universal Conductance Fluctuations in Quantum Anomalous Hall Insulators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Universal conductance fluctuations are observed in mesoscopic quantum anomalous Hall insulators. Two distinct fluctuation patterns are identified, arising from different interference processes of bulk and chiral edge states, respectively. These findings unveil rich quantum interference phenomena in quantum anomalous Hall insulators and provide insights

Impact of Individual Anomalous Noise Events on the Monitoring of Traffic Noise in Urban Areas

open access: yes, 2018
At least one million healthy life years are lost every year from traffic-related noise in the western part of Europe according to the World Health Organization. Other diseases have been linked with environmental noise, such as sleep disturbance, heart illnesses or tinnitus. The Environmental Noise Directive 2002/49/EC (END) and the CNOSSOS-EU framework

Large‐Area 2D Metasurface‐Based Triboelectric E‐Skin Arrays: Contact & Proximity Tactile Mapping with Broadband Acoustic Readouts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurface‐engineered NC‐TENG arrays integrate tactile pressure mapping, non‐contact gesture sensing, and acoustic signal readouts in one ultrathin module, and outperforms pristine PDMS in terms of electrical output and real‐time spatial mapping for next‐gen wearables.

Ferromagnetism of Molecular Beam Epitaxy‐grown Ultra‐thin Cr2Ge2Te6 Films Down to the Monolayer Limit on Si Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Uniform monolayer Cr2Ge2Te6 films are achieved on Si substrates by molecular beam epitaxy. Intrinsic ferromagnetism with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy is established in the films by anomalous Hall effect and superconducting quantum interference device measurements, albeit with strong magnetic fluctuations characteristic of its 2D nature.

SED-NET: Real-Time Suspicious Event Detection via Deep Learning-Based Di-Stream Neural Network

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems
Suspicious event detection (SED) identifies anomalous activities in surveillance data using computer vision and machine learning techniques. However, existing approaches have high false positive rates difficulty distinguishing suspicious from normal ...
