Anomalous Aortic Origin of a Coronary Artery

open access: yesMethodist DeBakey Cardiovascular Journal, 2019
Anomalous aortic origin of a coronary artery (AAOCA) is the second leading cause of sudden cardiac death in young athletes. The pathophysiology leading to sudden cardiac death, the specific risks associated with the different varieties of AAOCA, and the effects of different management strategies on the risk of sudden cardiac death are all unknown. This

On the Origin of Anomalous Velocity Clouds in the Milky Way [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2006
We report that neutral hydrogen (H I) gas clouds, resembling high-velocity clouds (HVCs) observed in the Milky Way (MW), appear in MW-sized disk galaxies formed in high-resolution Lambda cold dark matter (ΛCDM) cosmological simulations that include gas dynamics, radiative cooling, star formation, supernova feedback, and metal enrichment.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Do All Coronary Anomalies Need to Be Fixed?

open access: yesJournal of the Practice of Cardiovascular Sciences
Coronary anomalies are rare. Management of anomalous coronary origin depends on various features which are determined by a CT coronary angiography usually.

Anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the right pulmonary artery with intramural aortic trajectory. Clinicosurgical diagnostic implications

open access: yesArquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia, 1999
OBJECTIVE: Anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the right pulmonary artery (AOLCARPA), is a rare entity that is usually associated with other defects. Of the 20 cases of AOLCARPA reported in the literature, 14 (70%) had associations.

Modular Critical Element Recycling Platform Using a Nanoporous Additively Manufactured Gyroid

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A modular recycling platform integrates 3D‐printed nanoporous gyroid structures to enable efficient critical element recovery. This system utilizes a hierarchical architecture, combining macroscopic channels with polymerization‐induced nanoscale porosity. By systematically tuning structural wall thickness and resin formulation, the platform achieves an

Uniform Amorphization of Crystalline Silicon Surfaces Enabled by Deep Ultraviolet Femtosecond Laser Pulses

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Deep‐UV (258 nm) femtosecond pulses enable uniform amorphous silicon writing on Si(100)/(111) with a six‐fold larger fluence amorphization window than NIR methods. Optimized fluence and overlap yield 20–45 nm uniform and continuous amorphous layers. Microscopy shows sharp interfaces, and real‐time reflectivity reveals nanosecond melt–resolidification ...
