Machine learning for anomaly detection in particle physics
The detection of out-of-distribution data points is a common task in particle physics. It is used for monitoring complex particle detectors or for identifying rare and unexpected events that may be indicative of new phenomena or physics beyond the Standard Model.

Decoding Directional Control in Metal‐Assisted Chemical Etching via Catalyst Architecture
Metal‐assisted chemical etching (MaCE) enables silicon nanostructure fabrication but suffers from isotropic undercutting. This study highlights the critical role of catalyst morphology in etching directionality. High‐aspect‐ratio catalysts induce lateral etching, while thermal treatment at 450 °C stabilizes catalyst geometry, promoting vertical etching.

Through a dual‐functionalization strategy, carbon quantum dots (CQD) with exceptional fluorescence properties are engineered. These CQD are integrated with graphitic carbon nitride to form a 2D/2D heterostructure via both covalent and non‐covalent modification.

Anomaly of subsystem symmetries in exotic and foliated BF theories
We study the mixed ’t Hooft anomaly of the subsystem symmetries in the exotic BF theory and the foliated BF theory in 2+1 dimensions, both of which are fractonic quantum field theories describing the equivalent physics.

Unbiased evaluation and calibration of ensemble forecast anomalies [PDF]
Long-range ensemble forecasts are typically verified as anomalies with respect to a lead-time dependent climatology to remove the influence of systematic biases. However, common methods for calculating anomalies result in statistical inconsistencies between forecast and verification anomalies, even for a perfectly reliable ensemble.

In this article, vertical graphene‐modified microelectrodes (VGMEs) are fabricated by modifying vertical graphene on different types of metal microelectrodes (Au, Ti, Ag, and W) for enhanced electrochemical detection of DA. Moreover, the sensing performance on dopamine concentrations is explored with different electrochemical methods, including EIS, CV,
