The effect of the microsporidan, Nosema algerae, on Anopheles stephensi

Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 1975
Abstract A bioassay method was established to examine infectivity differences between different batches of Nosema algerae spores. The IC 50 of N. algerae spores produced in one unusual host, Heliothis zea, was the same as for spores from the normal mosquito host, Anopheles stephensi .

The acetycholinesterase gene ofAnopheles stephensi

Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology, 1991
1. The acetylcholinesterase (AChE) gene from the important malaria vector Anopheles stephensi has been isolated by homology to the Drosophila acetylcholinesterase gene. 2. The complete sequence and intron-exon organization has been determined. The encoded protein has 69% identity to Drosophila AChE and 38 and 36% identity to Torpedo AChE and human ...

An ovarian chromosome map of Anopheles stephensi.

Cytobios, 1985
A polytene chromosome map of Anopheles stephensi has been prepared from the ovarian nurse cells of adult females. Many homologous regions can be recognized in comparisons between the ovarian and salivary gland chromosome maps but band for band homologies are not readily evident. The preparation of polytene chromosomes from ovarian nurse cells is easier
