Laboratory studies on the development, survival and life tables of Culex fatigans and Anopheles stephensi [PDF]
Observations on the duration of pre/post embryonic stages, survival and longevity of laboratory populations ofCulex fatigans andAnopheles stephensi were made in order to understand the factors controlling outbursts of these mosquito populations in ...

A near-chromosome level genome assembly ofAnopheles stephensi [PDF]
AbstractMalaria remains a major healthcare risk to growing economies like India and a chromosome-level reference genome ofAnopheles stephensiis critical for successful vector management and an understanding of vector evolution. We report a chromosome-level assembly of an Indian strain from draft genomes of two strains using a homology-based iterative ...

Highly pathogenic isolates of Metarhizium anisopliae attracted Drosophila suzukii. Identifying the responsible compounds for this attraction could help the development of these isolates for pest monitoring and overall pest management. Abstract BACKGROUND Drosophila suzukii, commonly known as spotted wing drosophila (SWD), is a highly invasive and ...

Proteome data of female Anopheles stephensi antennae
Antennae of female Anopheles stephensi mosquitoes were dissected and lysed with 1% SDS. Proteins were extracted using ultra sonication and analyzed on high resolution mass spectrometer. Proteomic data was analyzed using two search algorithms SEQUEST and Mascot, resulting in the identification of 22,729 peptides corresponding to 3262 proteins.

Asaia, a versatile acetic acid bacterial symbiont, capable of cross-colonizing insects of phylogenetically-distant genera and orders [PDF]
Bacterial symbionts of insects have been proposed for blocking transmission of vector-borne pathogens. However, in many vector models the ecology of symbionts and their capability of cross-colonizing different hosts, an important feature in the symbiotic

We used recently detected P450 DNA‐based markers of pyrethroid resistance in both Anopheles funestus and Anopheles gambiae to demonstrate that although pyrethroid‐resistant mosquitoes have higher ability to survive and live longer after exposure to Royal Guard, this net significantly affects their lifespan, blood feeding ability and interestingly ...

Proteomics dataset of adult Anopheles Stephensi female brain
Mosquitoes with their ability to transmit several pathogens of human disease pose a serious threat to healthcare worldwide. Although much has been done to prevent the disease transmission by mosqitos. The rising rate of resistance in mosquitos towards conventionally used control strategies necessitates developing of novel strategies to counter disease ...
