A Screening Apparatus for Comparing the Fouling Resistance of Heat Exchanger Surfaces

For comparing the fouling resistance on different metallic heat exchanger surfaces, a screening apparatus and corresponding standardizable procedure were developed. Three differently treated metallic surfaces were then tested using two model substances, demonstrating the ability to assess their antifouling performance with the apparatus.
