Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Dimensi Metrik Graf Kr+mKsr, m, r, s, En

open access: yesCauchy: Jurnal Matematika Murni dan Aplikasi, 2011
The concept of minimum resolving set has proved to be useful and or related to a variety of fields such as Chemistry, Robotic Navigation, and Combinatorial Search and Optimization. So that, this thesis explains the metric dimension of graph Kr + mKsr, m,

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Bosonization based on Clifford algebras and its gauge theoretic interpretation

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We study the properties of a bosonization procedure based on Clifford algebra valued degrees of freedom, valid for spaces of any dimension. We present its interpretation in terms of fermions in presence of ℤ2 gauge fields satisfying a modified Gauss’ law,

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Metric properties of mean wiggly continua [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We study lower and upper bounds of the Hausdorff dimension for sets which are wiggly at scales of positive density. The main technical ingredient is a construction, for every continuum K, of a Borel probabilistic measure \mu with the property that on ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
