The Hydrodynamic Analysis of Propeller Based on ANSYS-CFX

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
In this paper, the open water performance of a pod propeller in the viscous flow fields is numerically simulated by the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method. Based on the coordinate transformation formula for transforming the local to the global coordinate, mathematical model of a propeller is created.

Simulation of vortex-induced vibrations of a cylinder using ANSYS CFX

China Ocean Engineering, 2014
In this paper, vortex-induced vibrations of a cylinder are simulated by use of ANSYS CFX simulation code. The cylinder is treated as a rigid body and transverse displacements are obtained by use of a one degree of freedom spring damper system. 2-D as well as 3-D analysis is performed using air as the fluid.

Analysis of Passive Heat Removal System by ANSYS CFX software

2018 19th International Scientific Conference on Electric Power Engineering (EPE), 2018
In the current study, the model of Passive Heat Removal System (PHRS) through SG (steam-generator) was developed for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis. During work there was done three main tasks, which are creating geometrical form of PHRS, meshing of model to achieve a better analysis of thermo-hydraulic phenomena and creating domains for ...

Overview of Fluid-Structure Coupling in ANSYS-CFX

Volume 4: Terry Jones Pipeline Technology; Ocean Space Utilization; CFD and VIV Symposium, 2006
The paper provides information of fluid-structure interaction (FSI) capabilities in the ANSYS multi-physics software environment for off-shore riser applications. Simulation examples are a simple verification of the FSI code by a bending beam in a flow channel, vortex induced vibrations (VIV) for a cylinder in cross flow and the flow around an ...

The «KT model» of cavitation mass transfer for simulation in ANSYS CFX

2020 International Conference on Dynamics and Vibroacoustics of Machines (DVM), 2020
The aim of the research is improvement of numerical cavitation models for simulation of hydrodynamic cavitation. The methods of development of a new dynamic component for a numerical model of cavitation mass transfer is presented in the paper. Application of the new method resulted in a new dynamic component for numerical model of cavitation mass ...

Sizing of Safety Valves Using ANSYS CFX‐Flo®

Chemical Engineering & Technology, 2009
AbstractThis work discusses the effect of the degree of fineness of the flow volume discretization and that of the turbulence model on the accuracy of reproduction of air mass flow rates in two safety valves using the CFD software ANSYS Flo®. Calculations show that the degree of fineness of the discretization is the decisive factor affecting the ...

Modelling of condensing steam flows in Laval nozzles with ANSYS CFX

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part A: Journal of Power and Energy, 2017
The results of the International Wet Steam Modelling Project presented at the Wet Steam Conference in Prague in 2016 again gave rise to a discussion about the suitability of the flow solver ANSYS CFX for the prediction of spontaneous condensation. In this article, the main reason for the discrepancy between results obtained with CFX and measurement ...
