Non-crimp fabric permeability modelling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A qualitative study to the in-plane permeability modelling of Non-Crimp\ud Fabrics has been carried out. A network flow model was developed to describe flow through\ud inter bundle channels (meso level).

High Shear Stress‐Induced Endothelial Piezo1 Downregulation Promotes Intracranial Aneurysm Formation via the PDGF‐BB/PDGFRβ Paracrine Signaling Pathway

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 31, Issue 12, December 2025.
HSS downregulates Piezo1 expression in ECs, which subsequently enhances PDGF‐BB expression through the YAP/β‐catenin signaling pathway. The elevated PDGF‐BB facilitates phenotypic transition of VSMCs via PDGFRβ binding, ultimately contributing to IA formation.

CFD modelling of double-skin facades with venetian blinds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This paper describes CFD modelling of Double Skin Façades (DSF) with venetian blinds inside the façade cavity. The 2-D modelling work investigates the coupled convective, conductive and radiative heat transfer through the DSF system.

An experimental and CFD study of liquid jet injection into a partially baffled mixing vessel: a contribution to process safety by improving the quenching of runaway reactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Thermal runaway remains a problem in the process industries with poor or inadequate mixing contributing significantly to these incidents. An efficient way to quench such an uncontrolled chemical reaction is via the injection of a liquid jet containing a ...

Numerical Study of a Heat Transfer in a Photovoltaic (PV) Panel Water Cooling Systems

open access: yesRevue des Énergies Renouvelables
The proposed work uses the CFD commercial flow solver Ansys CFX. This solver is a finite volume-based method. Ansys CFX is used to compute heat transfer at the fluid-solid interface using its CHT module to improve the efficiency of the cooling PV system.

Impregnation and saturation analysis of microwave‐preheated reactive resin in liquid composite molding

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 46, Issue S1, Page S159-S170, 10 September 2025.
Analysis of the improvements of impregnating and saturating resin flows in microwave‐preheated liquid composite molding. Abstract In liquid composite molding processes, resin preheating is a strategy to reduce the viscosity, which consequently improves resin flow and reduces impregnation time. However, the provision of heat to thermoset systems must be

Optimal blade design of a spherical water turbine

open access: yese-Prime: Advances in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Energy
The use of in-pipe water turbines for small-scale energy harvesting from pipe networks is starting to gain popularity. However, limited research have looked into whether adding helical blade turbines would be feasible with a spherical lift base in a ...
