Mass Exchange Flow Process in Side Channel Pumps: Effects of Different Geometrical Parameters
Figure 1 shows the Mass Flow Exchange (MFE) in the impeller at z = 7.5 × 10−3 m at 1.0 Q/QBEP, operating point for impeller scheme 1 (IMP 1), and impeller scheme 2 (IMP 2). The flow begins to exit the impeller at the outer radius and enters at the inner and central radii. IMP 1 exhibits more flow in and out compared to IMP 2. ABSTRACT The functionality

Assessment of RANS turbulence models and Zwart cavitation model empirical coefficients for the simulation of unsteady cloud cavitation [PDF]
The numerical simulation of unsteady cavitation flows is sensitive to the selected models and associated parameters. Consequently, three Reynolds Average Navier-Stokes (RANS) turbulence models and the Zwart cavitation model were selected to assess their ...

A Comparison of FDS, ANSYS-CFX and Caelus for Car Park CO Ventilation [PDF]
A comparison of three computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solvers for carbon monoxide ventilation in a car park: FDS, ANSYS-CFX and Caelus is presented. FDS is a fire/smoke CFD solver used widely in the building services industry, whilst ANSYS-CFX and Caelus (an OpenFOAM R fork) are general purpose CFD solvers.

Abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) pose a substantial threat to public health due to their risk of rupture, which can be life‐threatening. Current clinical practice relies primarily on AAA diameter and growth rate as indicators to determine if surgical treatment is imperative. This study investigates the integration of WSS‐related hemodynamic parameters,

Numerical Investigation of Transonic Axial Compressor Rotor With Leading‐Edge Tubercles
Amplitude, wavelength, and span‐wise location of the leading‐edge tubercles on a transonic NASA Rotor 37 compressor are numerically optimized. An increase in efficiency by 0.52% compared to the corresponding baseline rotor is observed. The location of the shockwave moves downstream of the rotor with 1.91% higher pressure.

Jet pumps for thermoacoustic applications: design guidelines based on a numerical parameter study [PDF]
The oscillatory flow through tapered cylindrical tube sections (jet pumps) is characterized by a numerical parameter study. The shape of a jet pump results in asymmetric hydrodynamic end effects which cause a time-averaged pressure drop to occur under ...
