Design optimisation of air filters using ANSYS fluent

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2021
Abstract This paper is based on the current status of research and development in the high performance air filters segment. This can be done by choosing an appropriate filter and operating it under optimized conditions. The present paper details the applicability of filters used in conjunction with metal screen for the purpose of ...

Computer Modeling of Non-Standard Fire Testing Using the Combination of Ansys Fluent and Ansys Mechanical Software

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Computer modeling has a strong potential to replace or supplement physical fire testing of building structures. A prepared and applicable model must be simple to prepare, capable of calculating and processing results in the shortest possible time without

Simulation of Night Cooling Through Natural cross Ventilation using ANSYS (Fluent)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energetica, 2021
In this study, we carried out a numerical simulation using CFD code “Fluent 14.0” to quantify night ventilation due to convective and radiative phenomena with well-defined boundary conditions. The configuration is an open square cavity.

Substantiation of Parameters of the Network Model of the Air Distribution Due the Piston Effect in the Extra-Long Tunnels

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
The article analyzes the aerodynamic processes initiated by the piston effect in extra-long railway tunnels. The authors numerically modelled the movement of a freight train, 1 km long, in tunnels 3 and 6 km long.

Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

A Porous Interfacial Photothermal Layer of Fused Core–Shell Carbon‐Polymer Nanospheres for Directional Salt Crystallization and Zero‐Liquid‐Discharge

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical hydrogel evaporator with a thin, porous photothermal layer of fused core–shell carbon‐polymer nanospheres enables ultrafast interfacial solar evaporation with minimized heat loss and sufficient water supply. Directional advection‐dominated brine transport, coupled with Marangoni‐driven interfacial flow, drives salt away from the active ...

Research on Evaporation Characteristics and Safe Storage Duration of Marine Liquid Hydrogen Storage Tanks Under the Coupling Effect of Heat Leakage and Sloshing

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Liquid hydrogen, a zero‐carbon and high–energy‐density fuel, is a promising option for future oceangoing vessels. During maritime transportation, onboard cryogenic tanks are exposed to ambient heat leakage and ship‐induced roll motion, which can trigger sloshing and fundamentally modify the coupled thermo‐fluid processes governing boil‐off and

Computational fluid dynamics simulations of airflow through the nasal passages of rhinolophoid bats

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The nasal passages of bats that emit their echolocation call through their nostrils have adapted for sound emission as well as standard respiratory and olfactory functions. Rhinolophids, hipposiderids and rhinonycterids all use a high duty cycle (HDC) echolocation strategy.
