TolC is identified as an essential component of the mixed‐linkage β‐glucan (MLG) biosynthetic machinery in Sinorhizobium meliloti, likely enabling polymer export. Co‐expression of tolC, bgsBA, and pleD* significantly enhances MLG production and enables its synthesis in non‐native bacterial hosts.

Structured machine learning modeling to support conservation of deep‐sea benthic biodiversity
Abstract Biodiversity monitoring programs need to deliver accurate, timely, and actionable predictions. To establish a predictive monitoring program for deep‐sea benthos of the Santos Basin, Brazil, we developed a two‐stage structured model that allowed comparison of biodiversity predictions obtained from environmental simulations (2M‐Sim).

Abstract Polymetallic sulfide deposits produced at hydrothermal vent fields are targets for mining exploitation along the Mid‐Atlantic Ridge, threatening the functioning and resilience of vent ecosystems that provide multiple ecosystem services. Knowledge about connectivity between vents will inform conservation practices.

Isentropic Mixing and Formation of the Antarctic Bottom Water
P(論文) A possible effect of the isentropic mixing on the formation of the Antarctic Bottom Water is explored by using a numerical model of oceanic general circulation. The isentropic mixing increases the rate of deep and bottom water mass formation. The meridional circulation is waxed. The meridional heat transport is correspondingly increased.
