SEISMICITY AROUND THE ANTARCTIC PENINSULA
Seismic activity in the vicinity of the South Shetland Islands, at the north tip of the Antarctic Peninsula, is very high compared with other regions of the Antarctic. A study of International Seismological Center data between 45°-70°W and 55°-72°S, covering the 1970-1990 time period, verifies this conclusion.
