A phylogenomic approach for a new infrageneric classification of Bulbostylis (Abildgaardieae, Cyperaceae)

In this study, we investigate the relationships among 149 species of Bulbostylis (Cyperaceae)—representing 69% of global diversity—using a universal probe kit for targeted genomic sequencing of flowering plants (Angiosperms353 probe kit). Our sampling also includes the genus Nelmesia, which we found to fall within Bulbostylis.

Evolutionary legacies structure the geography of seagrass traits across the world's oceans

Summary Traits modulate species' ability to track shifts in climate, yet the extent to which traits have been shaped by the contemporary environment and/or historical processes remains poorly understood. Here, we fill this gap for the world's seagrasses, habitat‐forming species that provide critical ecosystem services.

The genus Arthrocardia (Corallinales, Rhodophyta) in New Zealand: Description of three new species

Phycological Research, EarlyView.
SUMMARY Three new species of the coralline algal genus Arthrocardia (Corallinophycidae, Rhodophyta) are described from New Zealand: A. meridionalis, A. perplexa, and A. robusta. These species are difficult to distinguish based on morphoanatomical characters alone and require molecular sequence data for reliable identification.
