Antemortem laboratory diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease

Progress in Neuro-Psychopharmacology and Biological Psychiatry, 1986
The accuracy of diagnosis for AD by conventional clinical and laboratory means is in the order of 80%. Neurophysiological techniques (EEG, evoked potentials) show abnormalities in AD that could prove to be useful for diagnosis after pharmacological challenges. CSF analysis show a reduction of the concentration of various neuropeptides, reduction shared

Antemortem Conversion of Codeine to Morphine in Man

Journal of Forensic Sciences, 1976
Abstract In the routine screening of postmortem specimens in this laboratory, whenever codeine is detected, morphine is almost always found concurrently. Adler [1] and Mannering et al [2] demonstrated that, in man, codeine is demethylated to morphine, and that as much as 17.2% of codeine appears as bound and unbound morphine in urine.

Correlation of Antemortem and Postmortem Digoxin Levels

Journal of Forensic Sciences, 1978
Abstract The dynamics of digoxin metabolism have been well studied since the introduction of sensitive radioimmunoassay procedures capable of detecting low biologic levels of this compound [1]. The value of monitoring digoxin therapy through serum levels has been widely accepted, and toxic effects are frequently observed when the serum ...

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2016
“The broadest definition ever given to the judicial power confines it to controversies between conflicting parties in interest, and such can never be the condition of a living man and his possible heirs.” Although the Michigan Supreme Court was correct in many ways, their use of the word “never” was an overstatement.2 Despite the case and controversy ...
