Compact Multiband Slot Antenna for WLAN/WiMAX Operations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2014
A novel compact triple-band slot antenna is proposed for WLAN/WiMAX applications. With the use of three L-shaped slots and an open-ended slot on the ground plane, three resonant modes centered at 2.4/3.5/5.8 GHz are excited.

Rotman Lens-Fed Antenna for Generating Multiple Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) Modes With Gain Enhancement

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
A compact multi-layer Rotman lens-fed array antenna which can generate nine orbital angular momentum (OAM) modes is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna consists of a microstrip Rotman lens and a nine-element circular array antenna which ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

High-Performance Radiation Design of a Planar Bow-tie Antenna Combined with a Dielectric Lens and Cascaded Matching Layers at Terahertz Frequencies

open access: yesInternational Journal of Technology, 2018
The demand for high-speed data transmission has increased significantly in the last decades. Terahertz (THz) frequency, which lies between 100 GHz to 10 THz, has been considered as the solution to the demand. However, the low gain and low efficiency of a

Development of compact antenna for RFID application [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In recent years, microstrip antennas have met commercial requirements. The advent of wireless applications requires a compact antenna, easy to manufacture. The goal of the project is to develop a microstrip monopole antenna for RFID tag applications that

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Radiometric evaluation of antenna-feed component losses [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
Radiometric method accurately calibrates the principal line sections of an antenna, including the section which contains the antenna-feed component /mode generator and polarizer/.

RFID coverage extension using microstrip-patch antenna array [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, a UHF-band 2 x 2 microstrip phased-array antenna is designed and implemented to extend the coverage of an RFID reader system. The phased-array antenna has four microstrip-patch antennas, three Wilkinson power dividers, and a transmission ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Doubly Constrained Robust Blind Beamforming Algorithm

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2013
We propose doubly constrained robust least-squares constant modulus algorithm (LSCMA) to solve the problem of signal steering vector mismatches via the Bayesian method and worst-case performance optimization, which is based on the mismatches between the ...
