Optical control of an 8-element Ka-band phased array using a high-speed optoelectronic interconnect [PDF]
Optical distribution of control signals in electronically steered phased array antennas is being considered. A demonstration experiment is described in which a high speed hybrid GaAs optoelectronic integrated circuit (OEIC) was used to control an eight ...

Exploring the photocatalytic reverse water–gas shift (RWGS) reaction on doped SrTiO3 nanoparticle films, reveals that normalizing catalytic rates by the catalyst's specific surface area (SSA) disentangled surface area effects from the catalyst's intrinsic material properties.

Biomimetic Iridescent Skin: Robust Prototissues Spontaneously Assembled from Photonic Protocells
Uniform nanoparticles are induced to form arrays (photonic crystals) in the cores of biopolymer capsules, endowing these ‘protocells’ with structural color. These protocells are then assembled into large self‐standing objects, i.e., prototissues, with robust mechanical properties as well as iridescent optical properties.

Delay line and mutual coupling considerations for MST radar antenna arrays [PDF]
Basic antenna theory which states that the field radiated from an antenna array is equal to the sum of the currents flowing in each element of the array is discussed.

Multiring-antenna arrays are considered, particularly for space telemetry and communication. The configuration with two concentric rings is examined. The distant electric field, the radiation resistance, the directive gain and the mutual-coupling impedances are derived. Numerical results are given for arrays with eight monopoles in each ring.
