Low Discrepancy Sparse Phased Array Antennas [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2021
Sparse arrays have grating lobes in the far field pattern due to the large spacing of elements residing in a rectangular or triangular grid. Random element spacing removes the grating lobes but produces large variations in element density across the aperture. In fact, some areas are so dense that the elements overlap.

Method of phase compensation and pattern transformation for array antennas with arbitrarily oriented circularly polarised elements

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation, 2023
The inconsistent polarised directions and the radiation pattern transformation of the elements need to be considered in the analysis and simulation of large circularly polarised conformal arrays. Without relying on full‐wave simulations of the full array,

Impact of dielectric substrate on the performance of an 8 × 8 magneto-electric dipole phased array antenna for 5G mmWave applications

open access: yesFrontiers in Communications and Networks, 2023
The impact of the substrate dielectric material on the performance of a wideband magneto-electric dipole (MED) phased array antenna is systematically studied in this article. Four commercially available dielectric substrates for mmWave applications, i.e.,
