Radar spectrum opportunities for cognitive communications transmission [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In relation to opportunistic access to radar spectrum, the impact of the radar on a communication system is investigated in this paper. This paper illustrates that by exploring the spatial and temporal opportunities in the radar spectrum and therefore ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Textile Diamond Dipole and Artificial Magnetic Conductor Performance under Bending, Wetness and Specific Absorption Rate Measurements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Textile diamond dipole and Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) have been proposed and tested under wearable and body centric measurements. The proposed antenna and AMC sheet are entirely made of textiles for both the substrate and conducting parts, thus ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

RADIATION OF THE FLAT PLASMA LAYER WITH SMALL BENDING [PDF]

open access: yesРадиофизика и электроника, 2017
Plasma antennas are the subject of intense theoretical and experimental studies. One of the types of plasma antennas is the so-called loop antenna, which is a curved gas discharge tube filled with cold plasma.

Design of a Metal 3D Printed Double-Ridged Horn Antenna With Stable Gain and Symmetric Radiation Pattern Over a Wide Frequency Range

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
In this paper, we propose a metal 3D printed double-ridged horn antenna with a truncated cone feeding structure, curve-shaped cavity, and mode suppressor for a feeder of a reflector antenna.

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Pattern-Reconfigurable Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator Antenna Based on Parasitic Elements

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
A novel pattern-reconfigurable cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna is presented. By the incorporation of four p-i-n diode switches and four parasitic elements, the mode of dielectric resonator excited by the probe changed.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...
