Common trunk of the anterior cerebral arteries

Neuroradiology, 1972
The rare case of a long common trunk of the two anterior cerebral arteries is described angiographically with reference to three infants. Meningocoeles were present in two patients, while the third exhibited agenesis of the corpus callosum. Porencephalic cysts of different degrees were found in all three cases.

Anterior Cerebral Artery

2011
The anterior cerebral artery (ACA) arises as a branch of the primitive olfactory artery which originates from the anterior cranial division of the ICA. The ACA develops replacing progressively the primitive olfactory artery which regresses. Later in the evolution from the ACA arises as a secondary branch the MCA (De Vriese 1905; Abbie 1934; Padget 1948;

Infarction in the territory of the anterior cerebral artery

Neurology, 1998
Infarction in the anterior cerebral artery (ACA) territory is an uncommon cause of stroke. The clinical findings of ACA infarctions are not fully characterized but include contralateral hemiparesis, urinary incontinence, transcortical aphasia, agraphia, apraxia, and executive dysfunction.

Distal anterior cerebral artery aneurysms

Surgical Neurology, 1999
The incidence of saccular aneurysms in the distal anterior cerebral artery (DACA aneurysms), also called pericallosal or A2 aneurysms, has been estimated to be from 1.5 to 9.0% of all intracranial aneurysms in large series in the literature [5,10,12,18].

Dolichoectasic Anterior Cerebral Artery and Hemodynamics

Journal of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases, 2012
Dolichoectasia of the intracranial arteries is a rare condition, and the vertebrobasilar system and the internal carotid artery are the most commonly involved structures. We report a rare case of idiopathic dolichoectasia of the anterior cerebral artery in a 22-year-old female.

Accessory anterior cerebral artery of duplicate origin associated with accessory middle cerebral artery and anterior cerebral artery fenestration

Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy
There are few reports of an accessory anterior cerebral artery (ACA) of duplicate origin. The combination of accessory middle cerebral artery (MCA) and ACA fenestration is also rare.We report a case of accessory ACA of duplicate origin associated with accessory MCA and ACA fenestration diagnosed by magnetic resonance angiography (MRA).A 25-year-old ...

Aneurysms of the azygos anterior cerebral artery

Surgical Neurology, 1981
Abstract Two cases of aneurysms of azygos anterior cerebral arteries are reported from among 37 cases of distal anterior cerebral artery aneurysms. The significance of this anomaly in the genesis of anterior cerebral artery aneurysms is discussed.

Proximal Occlusion of the Anterior Cerebral Artery

Archives of Neurology, 1960
Between September, 1948, and January, 1958, we have encountered by angiographic studies 50 patients with nonfilling or thread-like filling of the proximal portion of one anterior cerebral artery (in 1 case bilateral) associated with neurologic and/or psychiatric (dementia, impaired insight, anxiety, loss of initiative, and impaired mentation) signs and

The recurrent branch of the anterior cerebral artery

The Anatomical Record, 1967
AbstractThe recurrent branch of the anterior cerebral artery is of considerable applied importance. The extracerebral course of the vessel has been studied in dissection of 12 brains. Numerous variations in the course of the vessel were found and these have been presented.
