Diagnosing Pseudoarthrosis After Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion [PDF]

open access: yesNeurospine, 2018
Radiographic confirmation of fusion after anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) surgery is a critical aspect of determining surgical success. However, there is a lack of established diagnostic radiographic parameters for pseudoarthrosis. The purpose of this study is to summarize the findings of previous studies, review the advantages and ...

To What Extent Do Different Criteria Influence 3‐Month Fusion Evaluation in Anterior Cervical Arthrodesis Trials?

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 12, Page 3432-3439, December 2025.
Different fusion criteria led to altered significance of comparison results of 3‐month fusion rates in ACDF trials, but not contradictory conclusions. CT and dynamic radiographs showed poor agreement. Optimal dynamic thresholds recommended by criteria agreement were 3° of Cobb angle change or 2 mm of interspinous motion.
